Drywall on the ceiling continues….
A great, large crew of young hands made great progress. Both second floor ceilings are almost finished!
By completing the drywall on the second floor ceilings, the attic will be able to be insulated at the same time as the walls, which are due to be done by a professional contractor some time soon. Insulation will be blown in (wet cellulose?)

Drywall installation on the ceiling!
Almost the full ceiling completed on Michelle’s side, and a good start on Meg’s side.

April 1 Build Day

Nope, no April fools here, the siding was FINISHED today! What a long process that was!
Also noteworthy, the wallboard pile was uncovered from its winter hibernation in the yard, and the first wallboard was brought into the house for installation on the second floor ceiling.
Other tasks included assembly of bulk head doors, some grading around the perimeter (shoveling a lot of sand!) and more…

A great spring day for building!
Yet more progress on the siding — the end is in sight!
Other projects included cinder blocks and concrete on top of the bulk head door locations, some interior tasks, installation of fan vents, and more.

March 21 Build Day

Two great crews today: one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Lots of progress on the siding! The scaffolding came down for good on the Pratts Mill side and it was relocated to the front wall where lots of work was done, in addition to a lot of work on the South side wall as well. Other projects included digging holes for some window wells, painting and installing some “ground” trim along the top of the exterior walls, some yard reorganization and cleanup, and more.

More siding today!
The Pratts Mill side was completed, making the second complete side (in addition to the back wall)! More siding was put up on the front of the house, and siding work resumed on the South side of the house. Also, the scaffolding came down on the rear wall, giving a full view of that finished side.
Really looking like a house now!

March 14 Build Day

A beautiful spring day. Lots more siding work, including completion of the back wall!
An interesting task included removing ice from part of the floor of the still open basement (bulk head and basement windows not installed yet) — skating rink not really considered a permanent design feature. 
Other tasks included installing the remaining basement door, sawing out the wall base plates from doorways, miscellaneous interior wall blocking and more.
